The poem was written following a discussion between 3 school friends inspired by the concept of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

1+1 = 1

In the Beginning

There was 0

Then there was 1

Then 0+1 = 1

1 to the power 0 = 1

1 to the power 1 = 1

1 to any power = 1

Any number to the power 0 = 1

Though 0 to the power 0 is indeterminate

And finally 1 + 1 = 1
